2007 was the worst season for sharking we have experienced largely, we think, because the water temperature change we normally see around 16 miles offshore was much further out & less marked than usual. Consequently, we had to steam for longer & found fewer fish when we got there. In a record 24 trips, we only managed 38 Blues to 112lb, well below the long-term average of 4-5 fish per day. Tags were set in 30 Blues & 2 Tope. To date, none have been recaptured.
